Naturally grown Chinese cabbage by Fukumoto, Kagoshima Prefecture

We have received some precious, naturally grown Chinese cabbage.

Fukumoto's Chinese cabbage has a mild flavor and a subtle sweetness, and you can enjoy its crunchy texture.

Of course, it can be used in hot pots and pickles, but since it is grown without fertilizer or pesticides, it can also be safely used in salads.

Fukumoto Farm, Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture

Fukumoto is 24 years old and after working for an organic farming corporation, he started farming in Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture in 2016.

From the first year onwards, turnips, taro, eggplant, spinach, radishes, etc. have been grown without fertiliser or pesticides.

Fukumoto-san is still a young man in his mid-20s and has just started farming.

From the very beginning, he has had the lofty aspiration that "anything other than pesticide-free agriculture is possible," and has been working on environmentally friendly agriculture.

Since learning about natural farming through his connection with Purely, he has been trying his hand at natural farming while also working on improving his soil.

Fukumoto's field had been abandoned for many years, but the land he cultivated was blessed with fertile black soil.

The field was soft and pleasant to touch, probably because there had been little fertilizer or pesticides used in the past.
