Western Japan's No. 1 dairy kingdom: Dairy farmers in the foothills of Mount Aso in Kumamoto
"Real milk"
POINT 1: Farming methods that lead to "high-quality milk" - Strong and healthy cows that grow freely -
Located at the foot of the majestic Mount Aso, Kikuchi City began dairy farming in the 1940s and is now a dairy kingdom with 400 dairy farms raising 24,000 dairy cows.
Yoshii Farm uses a method called "silica farming" that uses natural minerals, which only a few farms in the country use, to keep the farm clean and odorless, raise cows in a relaxed environment, and produce high-quality raw milk. And to deliver this milk that they have produced with their own hands, they established Silica Farm, the first directly managed factory in Kumamoto Prefecture that handles everything from milk collection to delivery. Please try our "milk with a crisp taste that is closest to raw milk" and you will definitely notice the difference when you try it.
POINT2 "Real milk" made by dairy farmers - low temperature, long-term pasteurization -
Most milk in Japan is "super high temperature pasteurized", but at Silica Farm, we pasteurize it at a low temperature for 30 minutes at 63℃, and carefully make each bottle. Also, to keep it as natural as possible, it is non-homogenized.
After some time has passed, a thick, smooth white layer of cream will form on the top of the container, which can be scooped out and used as whipped cream.
POINT3 "Safe milk" carefully made by hand
~ A milk plant run by dairy farmers , with careful human effort from raising to processing to shipping ~
The fresh raw milk from Yoshii Farm, raised in the midst of nature, is transported to a milk plant run directly by the farm without ever coming into contact with outside air, and much of it is processed by hand. It is slowly pasteurized at 63°C for 30 minutes in a large machine called a pasteurizer. The milk is then sent to a tank, where it is slowly circulated by gravity and filled bottle by bottle. As such, many of the steps involved in producing "Yume Milk Pasteurized Milk" are done by hand, making it a method that is not well suited to mass production.
However, Yoshii Farm's ideal method of producing milk is to carefully select and deliver milk that meets a higher standard.
Dairy farmer Ryuji Yoshii
I am a dairy farmer who has inherited the same name from my father, but after discovering silica farming, I was able to create a milk that I was happy with, which has gained a reputation as "milk that even people who don't like milk can drink." It took a lot of trial and error until the live bacteria count stabilized, but I created "Yumemilk," which fulfilled the producer's wish to "give children real milk that is closest to raw milk." Now, together with my daughter who has inherited this wish, I would like to work hard every day to deliver products that we have made with sincerity to our customers.
