Radishes are now available, a welcome addition in the middle of the transitional season!
Since they are just starting to come out, they are small in size but the taste is excellent.
Since this is a radish with leaves, you can also use the leaves in your cooking.

Naturally grown radishes from Fukumoto, Kagoshima Prefecture

We have received a shipment of naturally grown radishes from Fukumoto, a popular producer of Chinese cabbage and red turnips.

Radish is one of the most versatile vegetables, and can be used in hot pots, stews, grated radish, and more. Naturally grown radishes are juicy and have the natural sweetness of radishes, and are delicious even when eaten raw.

Fukumoto Farm, Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture

Fukumoto is 24 years old and after working for an organic farming corporation, he started farming in Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture in 2016.

From the first year onwards, turnips, taro, eggplant, spinach, radishes, etc. have been grown without fertiliser or pesticides.

Fukumoto-san is still a young man in his mid-20s and has just started farming.

From the very beginning, he has had the lofty aspiration that "anything other than pesticide-free agriculture is possible," and has been working on environmentally friendly agriculture.

Since learning about natural farming through his connection with Purely, he has been trying his hand at natural farming while also working on improving his soil.

Fukumoto's field had been abandoned for many years, but the land he cultivated was blessed with fertile black soil.

The field was soft and pleasant to touch, probably because there had been little fertilizer or pesticides used in the past.
