Nanakusa is a custom of eating rice porridge containing seven kinds of vegetables on the morning of the Jinjitsu festival (January 7th).
Its history is said to date back to the Edo period.
The seven herbs are said to ward off evil spirits because they sprout early in the spring.
So, they ate rice porridge with seven herbs to pray for good health.

Nanakusa are Japanese herbs.
The idea is to eat these herbs in porridge, which does not put strain on the stomach and intestines, making it the perfect food to help recover from the fatigue that may be starting to set in after the New Year holidays.
The lightly prepared porridge also tastes very refreshing after a string of slightly stronger tasting New Year's dishes.

The seven herb rice porridge proposed by Purely is made with naturally grown seven herbs from Kawachi in Mifune Town, who has more than 30 years of experience in this field.
We will deliver an assortment of parsley, shepherd's purse, gogyo, chickweed, Japanese laurel, turnip, and whitebait.

Mifune Town, Kumamoto Prefecture. Kazuichi Kawachi is engaged in natural farming in this land where the clear waters from the Yoshimuta water source flow. He has been practicing pesticide-free farming since 1987, and natural farming since 2004.
In addition to rice, Purely also receives a constant supply of naturally grown vegetables throughout the year.
