Natural whitebait from the Shiranui region of Kumamoto Prefecture.
Minamata Bay is a rich fishing ground in the Shiranui Sea. It is an inland sea with a ria coastline that is ideal for fishing, and the abundant seaweed beds are also spawning grounds for fish, making it one of Japan's leading treasure troves of small fish.
Freshly caught, without any additives, and dried in the sun, these are seafood from Shiranui, nurtured by the forests, rivers and sea.
