Aomori Prefecture accounts for 50% of the nation's apple production, and Fujisaki Town is the birthplace of the main apple variety, Fuji.

Takeshima is a pioneer who has established a cultivation method that uses as little pesticides as possible by using the mikado wasp for insect control and pollination.
